It has been quite some time since I have done a review, but I am very glad that I was given the opportunity to check out "Would a Worm Go on A Walk?" by Hannah C. Hall. We absolutely loved this adorable book! The very first thing that caught my daughter's eye was the funny title along with the whimsical picture. "Worms don't wear shoes, mama, " my six year old said with a giggle. The next thing we noticed was the very detailed book jacket. Not only is it colorful and inviting, but some of the print is raised making it fun for children to run their fingers over. The silly story is a wonderful way to remind children of how much we are all loved by God and how He has made each of His creations special. My daughter actually teared up when I read the very last page that reads, "The ANIMALS were just a start. God's masterpiece is YOU!" She felt very special being compared to a masterpiece.

My daughter and I read books every night before she goes to sleep and I can tell already that this is one that will frequent her night stand. She also recently started reading, and had fun taking turns reading pages with me. Both the story and the fantastic illustrations brought great joy to her, and any book that can nurture a child's love of reading is a great book to have on hand!  This book would also make a wonderful gift.

About the book (from the author):

This hardcover book is 32 pages long and is intended for children ages 4-7.

“Would a worm go on a walk, if you could lead him down the street? / Would he wear his tiny tennies, if he had two worm-sized feet?”
So begins this humorous and imaginative picture book that introduces children to the idea that animals are uniquely created by a loving and wise God. Would a Worm Go on a Walk?, with its colorful, comical illustrations, is a fresh, fun way to teach young children that God created all things very good. He gave all the animals, and children, too, wonderful qualities and unique strengths. Children will giggle over the ridiculous scenarios presented, and they will come away with the knowledge that we all are loved and special.
