Then Sings My Soul by Robert J. Morgan Book Review

Written by Robert J. Morgan, Then Sings My Soul is a collection of 150 Christmas, Easter, and All-Time Favorite Hymns and the stories behind them. The words and music to each of the hymns are included in this 320 page book as well which helps the reader understand the correlation between the words and why they were written.

The holidays are drawing near, and if you are the type of person who likes to gift books or if you know somebody who likes to receive them, this would be an excellent choice. The book I received to review was softcover with a French flap cover design. I love books with a classic feel, and the jagged edged ivory pages and brown print gave it just that. I appreciated the music being included as part of the book, because it helped me to understand the mood of some of the songs that I was unfamiliar with.

Music can speak to the soul, and Then Sings My Soul tells the story of the faith of the authors who penned the songs that are still an inspiration to so many people today. While the book was a little slow going for me here and there, for the most part I found it an enjoyable read and would recommend it to others.
