One of the cutest, by far, is Snowman Soup. It makes a great gift for anybody on your list and is even sweeter when paired with homemade treats.

What You'll Need:

  • 1 individual pack hot chocolate mix (or enough scoops of mix to make a cup)
  • 2 Hershey's chocolate kisses (or a small handful of milk chocolate chips)
  • About 15 mini marshmallows
  • 1  candy cane or cinnamon stick

Snowman Soup!
When the weather outside is frightful, Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
When you feel a chill or 'brrrrrr',
Use the peppermint stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.

For an easy homemade Hot Cocoa Mix that is sure to become a favorite at home and makes an excellent gift, try out this recipe:

2 cups nonfat dry milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup non-dairy creamer
1 dash of salt
Miniature Marshmallows

Combine ingredients and mix well. Store in an airtight container. This should yield 4 cups mix.

To make a cup of cocoa:

Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of the mix per mug and fill with boiling water. Stir to blend. Sometimes, we add flavored coffee creamer to ours or a dollop of whipping cream sprinkled with cinnamon or chocolate jimmies. For those of you who like your Mocha, add coffee to the mix instead of water.

Gifts in a Jar:

One of my absolute favorite gifts to give, are Gifts in a Jar. They are not only easy to make, but frugal, and so easy to personalize. All you need are some mason jars with lids and the ingredients needed for your recipe. Jazz it up by covering the lid with a cotton fabric circle secured with ribbon or raffia and attach a cute gift tag or label and you've got a gift just made for giving! You can also add little trinkets or utensils to the ribbon before tying it, which really gives it that extra something special.
