"America - The Story of Us" Review

AMERICA -The Story of Us
By Kevin Baker

America - The Story of Us is the perfect companion guide to the 12 hour television series that aired on The History Channel, now available on a 3 DVD set. As an illustrated history, it provides a glimpse into our Country’s humble beginnings to the great Nation she has become today.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: Containing over 200 historic photographs and works of art, each chapter comes to life in a way unparalleled for a history book. Twelve chapters highlighting the most notable moments in history from 1497 to today,  America - The Story of Us is perfect for the History buff as well as the average student. It is in-depth and interesting where  typical history books are dry and boring. One might even describe it as captivating.

When I was approached by Wesman PR to review this book, I have to admit that I was a bit more than a little excited. As a homeschooler, I had received a free copy of the 3 DVD set and had begun to use it as part of our core curriculum for American History. While there are Study Guides and Episode Guides on History.com, this book does an exceptional job at telling the “story behind the story”.
America - The story of Us would make a perfect addition to any home library.
Opinions expressed are my own. While I was not compensated for writing a positive review, I did receive a copy of the book in order to write the review.
