Tazo Organic Apple Red Tea

I am not what one would consider a Tea Connoisseur. Up until about a year or so ago, I was a Lipton gal with a Celestial Seasonings thrown in here and there to mix it up a bit. I've tried going the tea leaves route and I have even steeped cuttings from some of my herbs like Lemon Balm and Chocolate Mint. Pardon the pun, but it was not my cup of tea!

I am picky. I don't like my tea too spicy, too strong, too citrusy, too minty...you get the picture. So, I hesitate over buying something new. But, the weather is changing and, in my mind, that calls for tea not iced but hot. Yesterday, during my trip to the grocery store, I ventured down the usually avoided tea aisle. So many teas to choose from. I finally decided upon Tazo Organic Apple Red Herbal Infusion Tea. The packaging is what first caught my eye: a cream colored box with a beautiful red background accented by gold and black lettering. The next thing I noticed was that it was Organic (a definite plus in my world) and caffeine free (also a plus since I am nursing). Finally, I noticed the flavor. Apple. Mmmmmm! Upon closer examination, I learned that not only was it "just" apple but it was a sweet African red tea with REAL apple, cinnamon and the flavor of caramel. What says Fall better than caramel apple??? I have to admit that I have never heard of African red tea and I still have no idea what it is (I smell a homeschool project coming on). I do know that this tea is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. I added a little bit of honey we harvested from our own hive but I think next time I am going to try it without any sweetener. I have a feeling I will love it just as much, if not more.

So, next time you are perusing the tea aisle, check out TAZO tea. Your taste buds will thank you!
